And stuff.
10.27.04 (8:00 am)   [edit]

As I sit here with a middling cup of coffee, pondering the Cardinals' doubtless inevitable loss to the Red Sox this evening, my thoughts of course turn to Peeps.

I have a new boyfriend. Did I tell you that? No. :) (I haven't told you a thing lately.) Well, I do. He's a strapping Irish lad who thoroughly enjoys Peeps. I feel this is the best criterion for a successful relationship. Not only does he like to eat them, he makes them, with his very own Peeps Machine. I'm very jealous.

I fed 70 geese in the park almost every day this summer, and most of the fall. One of them has a broken wing (whom I call, in a fit of imagination, "Brokenwing"), and he's still hanging around awaiting his daily bread. He has a couple sidekicks who've stuck around with him to keep him company. You don't see hyenas doing that.

I don't know what I want this blog to be anymore, or if I even want it to BE anymore. I've got so little to say. Well, that's not true. I just have two or three things to say, and that's not terribly exciting. I still don't have a job, I'm still taking care of my family (so much so of late that I now don't even have time for a part-time job), I'm still trying to lose weight (it's working!), I'm still fighting off (more-than-occasional nowadays) bouts of something that smacks of depression. Not the "oh my God my life is a mess someone please feel sorry for me now" kind. Sulky ain't got time to waller, yo. It's the "I'm all washed-up and useless" kind. The kind that can only be cured by finding a good job. :)

Only mostly dead
10.02.04 (3:33 pm)   [edit]

No, I'm not actually really all the way dead, I'm only mostly dead. :) Hiya to anyone who still checks in here...just a note to say I miss you and I miss blogging, and I'm almost ready to come back from this little self-imposed break. I realize I didn't actually say I was taking a break, which would have been the polite thing to do, but I didn't even know it myself. I hope you all are well, I think of you tons, and I thank you for coming to check on me. I've really been in a big pickle at home, and that and a few other personal matters have completely taken up my time. So it ain't personal. :) I'm almost ready to come back and blog some more with you, but I've just not been able to do so for a while. I'm sorry I haven't been around; I'll let you know what's up very soon. Meanwhile, Happy October, and enjoy the fall. :)

xoxo Love Sulky
